Check-in & Check-out

Check-in starts at 4/5PM. Before your arrival our local agent will reach out to discuss at what time arrival is planned. Lorraine or Anthony will welcome you at the villa, show all guests around and explain the most important ins & outs of the villa. Check-out is normally at 10 PM, our agents will be in touch about the exact check-out time. With check-out Lorraine or Anthony will ask about your stay since we love to get some feedback to further improve our services. They will walk around the house to check if everything is in place and after that, you can hand over the keys back to them. As the owners of the villa we will also be in contact before, during and after your stay to make sure you’ll have the best time possible during your holiday.

During your stay our representatives Lorraine and Anthony will be at your disposal to deal with any questions or problems. They are to be reached by telephone and WhatsApp via 0034635750291 or via e-mail: info@costablancedreams.eu.

Their office ‘Costa Blanca Dreams’ is situated in Benissa. In the case there are technical problems in the villa we will try to solve these problems within 24 hours and we always have our maintenance team stand-by during your stay. For other services like catering, advice about surroundings, extra cleaning and/or linen services feel free to send us a Whatsapp or e-mail. Music installation

There are two Marshall speakers located in the house. To connect your phone to these speakers via Bluetooth, follow these steps:

  • Enable Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Go to your Bluetooth settings and look for a device named ‘ACTON III’.
  • Select ‘ACTON III’ to connect. Once connected, you can play music from Spotify or any other platform.

You can adjust the volume using your phone or by turning the knobs on the Marshall speakers. To ensure the longevity of the equipment, please avoid unplugging the speakers more than necessary.

Keyplan

During the check-in you will be handed over the keys that can be used for the main door of the villa, the gates and the windows connected to the Naya.  

Please watch the keys carefully during your stay since we have to change all locks when losing a key for future guests. In case of a lost key we have to unfortunately withhold 200 euros from the deposit which covers half our cost.

Gate

The entrance gate can be opened and closed with the electronic device you received together with the keys.

Security

It’s important to always lock all doors when sharing time at the pool. There are not much incidents in the neighbourhood, though if something happens it mostly happens when guests are at home during the day and leave doors open. When you are leaving the house, please install the alarm of Verisure, our partner Anthony from Costa Blanca Dreams can explain how this works. Please note that The Joya is never responsible for any damages or loss of personal belongings during a stay. We always advice to get a proper travel insurance.

Wifi

We offer WiFi throughout the property. There are several accounts that are called ‘The Joya’ and they all have the same password: #thejoya@2024 

Interior

The Joya is consciously designed with lots of handmade items and designer furniture. Our design is of course a unique selling point but we realize it’s also more difficult to maintain and is less ‘spilling’ and child-proof than most commercial rental homes. Please watch out with extreme colored foods like red wine, ketchup and for example curries and paellas that contain tumeric. Try to clean spots of these substances as soon as possible from the dining table and other concreted materials like the kitchens.

Number of guests & pets

Since we have to send all passports to the local government and they sometimes do routine checks it’s important to communicate with us about any extra guests staying at the villa. We are allowed a maximum of 12 adults in the villa. Pets are not allowed to stay in the villa, and when this policy is violated we have to withhold 250 euros from the deposit to clean the house. 

Smoking policy

Outdoors we allow smoking as long as nearby windows and doors are closed. Smoking inside is not allowed. When our agent detects smoking or ashes indoors we have to withhold 250 euros from the deposit to clean the house.

Bedrooms

During the warm summer season, all beds offer a thin sheet and a bedspread. If you desire a thicker blanket, please contact our partner Costa Blanca Dreams. 

Bathrooms

All four bathrooms are equipped with a walk-in shower, and a double sink. One of them contains a freestanding bath and all bathrooms have lighted mirrors.  We also provide bottles of organic cosmetics of our own brand. These cosmetics are a gift and can be taken home after your stay, as a souvenir. 

Pool

The pool at The Joya is weekly or sometimes twice a week maintained by our poolguy from Calpe Pools. If anybody else claims to be our poolguy, please call us for assistence. Chloride is used to keep the climate healthy. To prevent the rim of the bath from turning green, please take a shower before entering the pool. From September until June, the pool can be heated. As the pool is only 1.50 meters deep, please don’t dive and please keep a close eye on all children. The Joya is never responsible for any injuries caused by using the pool.

To control the colorful lights of the pool, use the switch located next to the stairs in the outdoor kitchen. After turning the lights on, click the switch repeatedly and quickly to cycle through different colors. The more you click, the more color options you can explore.

Washing machine and dryer

The Joya Boutique Villa provides a washing machine and dryer which can be used for private clothes and towels. Please don’t wash any white towels, linens or beach towels that are provided by our laundry company. Instead we can bring extra linens or towels during your stay on request. Two laundry detergent tablets are provided in the welcome package. The buttons of the washing machine are in Spanish, please use Google for a translation.

Towels and beach towels

For every guest we provide two big bath towels, one handtowel, a colored and branded beach towel and a bath mat. The beach towels are to be used outdoors and are suitable to bring to
the beach. Please don’t use any of the white towels outdoors.

If you would like to take the branded beach towels home as a souvenir after your stay, they are available for purchase at a rate of 25 euros per towel. 

Kitchen

The kitchen offers a cooking island, a combi microwave, and an oven, and is provided with organic teas and coffeecups for the Nespresso and SMEG machines when arriving. Please note that when you would like to use the drink water in the main kitchen, you have to turn on the left knob in stead of the right one. 

BBQ

Our BBQ is available for guests to use or to be used by a private caterer. We ask to make sure the kitchen and BBQ are cleaned after it’s use and to leave it as you found it before check-out. Don’t forget to use 100% charcoal in stead of briquettes for this Kamado grill.  

The grill and BBQ can only be cleaned with water and never with any cleaning agents. It’s easiest to clean the BBQ when it is still hot, you will be able to remove the dirt easily. 

If the BBQ needs extra cleaning by our service agent they have to charge 2 hours at a rate of 20 euros an hour which will be withhold from the deposit.

 Charcoal and other BBQ items can be purchased in the end of the street at the Petrol Station.

Outdoor

During evenings our irrigation system works on a timer to water the plants. Outdoor lights are also connected to a timer. Occasionally our gardener Pedros will come by to maintain the garden. Our outdoor furniture can deal with a little rain. When there is a really bad weather forecast we do appreciate it when guests can pile up the mattresses and pillows and put them underneath the roof of the outdoor kitchen. In Spain a couple of times a year the ‘red rain’ with the red sand from the Sahara occurs. When this is happening we try to let guests know up front so we can take all preparations to avoid the furniture and our guests belongings being wasted. 

Waste disposal

On your way to the beach from The Joya, you’ll find a rubbish disposal point near the petrol station. Please avoid leaving any rubbish outside, as it quickly attracts pests in Spain. Your cooperation helps keep the area clean and pleasant for everyone. Thank you!

Deposit

The deposit is besides for the extra charge/deduction of gas and electricity fully refundable within 7 days of departure, provided the following provisions are met:
• There are no traces of smoking inside the villa
• No damage is done to the property or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear
• The villa is swept clean before your departure
• All furniture, indoor and outdoor, and content, is in its original place and all gadgets handed over to you during your stay are returned to the owner
• All debris, rubbish and discards are placed in the public rubbish bins, outside the property
• Everything you used from the kitchen inventory is complete, cleaned and in its original place
• All keys are returned to the owner
• No linens are lost or damaged, or too dirty to launder clean
• All charges due to illegal activity, pets, or services rendered, accrued during the stay, are paid prior to departure.

Privacy and Neighbours

We expect our guests to respect the privacy of our neighbours. Please do not cause any extreme noise. Do not allow balls or other items to end up in the garden of our neighbours. During the night it’s best to put music at a lower volume after 11 PM and shut music down after midnight. It’s okay to sit outdoors after this time when keeping down the volume. The local police will receive all passports of the adults staying in the villa which is mandatory by the Spanish government. When the neighbours call the police for noise disturbance after 1 AM the police is allowed to send a fine to the home address of our guests. We know most of our neighbours personally and can contact them when any problems occur.
